Proclamation and Praise- final product!!

almost done......

finished painting! (the quality is not that great cuz it was taken with my phone:)

"Proclamation and Praise" kickoff service

Pastor Strobel could not have been more grateful and enthusiastic about this painting... he asked me to write up an artist's explanation, since there is a TON of symbolism within the painting- which I will post eventually, of course!
Have a great night, everyone!

passage of time photo challenge

Well, life's a road that you travel on
There's one day here and the next day gone
Sometimes you bend, sometimes you stand
Sometimes you turn your back to the wind

There's a world outside every darkened door
Where blues won't haunt you anymore
For the brave are free and they love our soul
Come ride with me to the distant shore

We won't hesitate
To break down the guarding gate
There's not much time left today

Life is a highway, I wanna ride it
all night long
If your going my way, I wanna drive it
All night long

Proclamation and Praise

Here's what I've been busy with the past week... needs to be finished by Friday or Saturday (preferably Friday)
WLC commissioned me to make an altarpiece for a new service that they are adding on Sunday nights called Proclamation and praise- the dimension of the painting is 12" x 9"
J man has been ever patient with me- playing so well by himself, and making awesome cooing noises that echo wonderfully in the basement at TPOG (where I am working on the painting, since I don't have 9 ft ceilings at home :/)

custom aluminum-reinforced stretcher bars assembled
March 19th

All stretched with gesso (primer)
march 2oth

1st layer of paint, heavy-duty hinges attached to form triptych
march 22

some people added- still figuring out composition
March 23

Threw out Neck- unable to work March 24

Went to Chiropractor Morning of the 25th

More trumpeters added- figuring out where to place words "proclamation and praise"
March 25th

Looking forward to adding the picture of the finished piece :)
Have a great night-
from a very- VERY tired mommy artist.

Self Portraits each day

This weeks Photo challenge was to take one picture of yourself each day- and no tweeking or taking extra pictures.
Friday Night

Wednesday Night

Tuesday Night

Monday Morning

This challenge was a tough one for me. I guess I didn't realize how dependant I had become on the "just toss it" idea with digital pictures. Usually I think about the challenge for a couple of days to form an idea, and this week the pictures really don't create a "series" like what I usually do.
Any comments welcome!

St. Patty's day Playdate

Yesterday Katie invited us over for a traditional dinner of corned beef and cabbage- so we packed our stuff into our Jeep (J man and DDR mat :), and made our way over to their house.
Josiah had a good time with Ruthie, who looked super cute in her Lucky Charms t shirt, and was even so nice to hold his hand- and only tried to eat it a couple times. :)
The food was fantastic, the friendship awesome, and the Dance Dance Revolution.....tiring and sweaty.

Here's one of my favorite shots of the night:

Awwwww!!!

J man was happily playing while I was working around the house, and suddenly it was very quiet........................................................ :)

if you haven't had enough of him yet.....

here are more pictures of the J man :)

Jonathan says that since Josiah can tell who we are by our smells, he ought to put his used socks by Josiah while he sleeps, that way he'll know Daddy really well.

What do you think of that, Josiah?

Josiah Talking

Josiah talking with Mommy. This is why I don't get much done :)

Food Photo Challenge

This week I got inspired early (rarely ever happens)- usually I'm submitting close to midnight on Friday. :)
Our challenge this week was to submit 3,5,0r 7 photos of food: I decided to do 2 groups of photos that added up to 7 photos total.
Please feel free to submit any comments, feedback, or criticisms. I decided to play around a little more with the photos this week. Hope you enjoy!
