Sarah's Wedding

This past weekend Jonathan's little sister, Sarah, got married!
I was one of her bridesmaids, so Jonathan was in charge of the little J man- and he did a fantastic job!
The celebrations started on Thursday with mani/pedi's and dinner and dancing, Friday we had rehearsal and dinner, Saturday we had a snowstorm, hairstyling, makeup, limo ride to the church, wedding at 2:30, limo ride to Cedar Creek Winery for outdoor pictures (yes, even in the snowstorm), then reception dinner, dancing the rest of the night. Then there was the gift opening on Sunday, and cards with family after that.
Sarah was gorgeous and elegant, and Billy (her hubby) looked stunning in his dress uniform (he's a Major in the Army). And Josiah and Jonathan looked awesome in their blakc shirts and pants with silver ties- and Josiah finished his outfit off with his black and white checkered VANS shoes.
It was a busy, hectic, wonderful weekend. And how did this new mom fare? Pretty well, thanks to her absolutely amazing little boy who slept 7 hours straight on Thursday night, 7 1/2 hours straight on Friday night, and 9 hours straight on Saturday night. No kidding. It was amazing.

Doctor Day

Josiah had his 2 month checkup today.
Here are the stats:
12 lbs 8 oz, 24 inches long.
He also got his shots- those needles seemed awfully big compared to his not so big thighs. It's not an easy thing to know something is hurting your child, but we pray this is for the best (I'm one of those people who is not totally sold on the "mandatory" shots- but that's a whole other story.....)
Another amazing thing that he has decided to do: He is now eating every 2 1/2 to 3 hours instead of every 2 hours. Yay! More time to waste on facebook. Just kidding. Maybe.
It's been an exciting week so far- and it's only Monday! I will be displaying some of my photography at Caribou Coffee on Hwy. 100 and Bluemound Rd- it's a pretty busy place, so I am thrilled about the exposure! Hopefully I'll have the pieces up by Friday. If not, then early next week. The pic at the top is one that's going to be put up (of 6 total).
WLC (my alma mater) has also commissioned me to do a rather large painting for a new church service that they will be offering. I am really psyched to start working on that, but I am a little nervous that they want it by March 13, and we JUST found out this weekend that they want me to do this. That's less than a month to do a piece at least 12 by 8 feet...hmm....I work well under pressure, at least!
OK-enough about me!
I haven't given an update on Jonathan in a while- he has officially been accepted to the Master's program at UWM- and will most likely begin this summer. We also learned that he may have some state funding for education left over from his Army days. I'm SO glad the army is still paying off for him :)

Now I should be sleeping, since Josiah evidently fell asleep. He falls asleep on his own. I just set him in his bassinet, and he falls to sleep. I am SO spoiled. ;)

~Bonding time with the J man~

He is 8 weeks old today- I can't believe how fast the time is flying by (I know this won't be the first time I say that!)
He is cooing and smiling regularly now- mostly at the bars on his changing table, and occasionally at me and Jonathan. We LOVE this little boy- he is really becoming quite the character!

PS. I thought I would share some parenting humor or interesting quip each week that I hear or experience:

Jonathan(hubby): "Baby poop now isn't so bad. When he first pooed, though... When you try to wipe it off, the poop just laughs at you."
(explaining meconium to some friends of ours w/o children)

Photo Challenge #4

Rhythm and Repitition was the theme for this week's challenge (go to www.weeklyphotographychallenge.blogspot.com to see the other entries and challenges)

I had a little something different in mind for what I would do for the challenge this week, but I was just drawn to the beautiful lines that would repeat themselves in different parts of nature. To see what everything is, check out the comments section. I really do like comments, even if you don't like the pictures!)

Fun at Grandma and Grandpa's House

We had a great time this weekend up at Grandma and Grandpa's house- it was awesome to hang out with them again! There are a lot of pictures in this entry, so I'll let them tell most of the story. Here are the highlights:
Josiah snuggled a lot with Grandma.
Josiah snuggled a lot with his cousins.
Grandpa went sledding with Dustin and Ethan- and even went down the hill by himself a couple times- he said it's the most fun he's had in a LONG time!
The kids all got sticky fingers from the rice krispies' treats.
